We had the most remarkable weekend.  We had Stake Conference and the Saturday Adult Conference was so enlightening.  We had Elders Michael Murray and Richard J. Maynes.  We received instruction in how to have the Holy Ghost in our lives and to follow those promptings.   Joseph Smith was visiting President Van Buren and he asked what made our church different and our Prophet answered:  "that in our church we have baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost".  In 3rd Nephi Christ prays to His Father that the Holy Ghost be given to the people, after their baptism.

Then in the morning session we got a new Stake Presidency and then Elder Maynes spoke again and gave us this poem:

’Twas a sheep not a lamb

That strayed away in the parable Jesus told,

A grown-up sheep that strayed away

From the ninety and nine in the fold.

And why for the sheep should we seek

And earnestly hope and pray?

Because there is danger when sheep go wrong:

They lead the lambs astray.

Lambs will follow the sheep, you know,

Wherever the sheep may stray.

When sheep go wrong,

It won’t take long till the lambs are as wrong as they.

And so with the sheep we earnestly plead

For the sake of the lambs today,

For when the sheep are lost

What a terrible cost

The lambs will have to pay.

After returning from Conference we prepared dinner.  We invited the Bishop's family to dinner with us today.  What a great time we had.  They have 8 children, the first 5 were girls and last 3 boys.  Such beautiful children.  I told them of how they reminded me of my sweet grandchildren, and the boys even looked like my own boys.  They have a new baby so my arms were full holding him, during dinner, little Toma.
