We really had a good day today after all. We are now staying for all three hours of both Branches. It was fun at the YSA Branch again, there were several visiting people who were either vacationing or here to drop daughters off at school. One young girl needed a place to stay, I felt bad for her. She said the computers at BYUH were down for the last month and she couldn't get her housing in. She was in school with no place to live. I offered our futon but that wasn't an option. Our Sunday School always feeds these guys some sort of snack or treat, this day the guy told us we had to absolutely go wash our hands good with soap. We had no idea what was up. Turns out nothing, he offered us Sweet Hawaiian rolls and a frozen CapriSun. He just said he was practicing for when he had students and getting them to obey...okay.
In the Family Branch the Kopp family spoke. They did an amazing job. They just went through the temple a month ago and were sealed. They both had previous temple marriages, and had been through church courts, and had totally turned their lives around. It was very humbling to listen to their story and the frankness and honesty they portrayed. I've been to their house, they are the one with the dog that "liked" me. They ever were telling Ramon how funny it was because this dog is so shy but took right to me. Weird, I know. Cute dog though.
Nicki Geronio came with her whole family. She is just about ready to be baptized. Such a neat lady who can see how wonderful our church is. They have been affiliated with so many churches before, even converted to Judaism at one time. But are so impressed with this one of ours. The husband and kids were baptized over 2 1/2 years ago. They sure are nice to us. I really like this family and love to be around them.
We have a busy week ahead. Meetings tomorrow, FHE and a fair at Kahuku we are also going to. And every day is full. Next weekend is what they call Aloha Weekend, all the Bishops and Branch Presidents have activities for everyone, even non-students. So Friday night is a outside dinner, our branch is in charge of water, then Saturday morning the students are being bussed over to Kahuku to clean up the stadium. Then lunch and on and on until a fireside Sunday night that the Hannemans are giving. We'll probably just do the dinner and help clean up the stadium and go over to our own ward house to clean that Saturday morning. There is always something fun for the students and youngins' to do. Tomorrow's FHE is Throne game...catch up on that tomorrow.
