Today we got up early and went to a District meeting in Laie. Our District had about 12 Elders and Sisters. I loved the fact that every Sister had on Hawaiian "slippers". Good for these Sisters who can't afford fancy sandals on their mission. We played a fun game after prayer to get us in the mood for the topic which was on "how to ask good questions." The game was similar to one we've seen people play with their phones while waiting in a long line. You have a name of an animal, you don't look at the name, hold it on your forehead and go around trying to get clues to what animal you are by asking questions. Then we had a lesson on asking good questions. We sang songs and had an enjoyable hour. Oh, and they offered us Sprite and popcorn to snack on! What amazing young people we have on our mission
After returning home we did laundry, then went into Mililani to Walmart and Safeway and then again to Costco and on the way home bought 1/2 dozen Snow Puffies for the upstairs folks. Then we went with Dave (our landlord) across the street to meet the Drummondos, a couple almost our age. They are here from the Big Island while his legs heal after surgery. They were so fun to visit with. He's Hawaiian Portuguese and she is Hawaiian from the Big Island. I asked her if she knew Mollie, my good friend from there but she didn't. We talked for over an hour, Dave is their "minister" too.
Brother Drummondo was in the marines, so he and Ramon could have talked forever. We'll try to visit them weekly. What a great couple, they are active in the church.
