Later our friends the Matangi's texted and asked us to come up to Punalulu and see their next place (a daughter's family had just built a new house and had an apartment on the main level for the parents to live in). We drove up, saw this ideal place, yes I coveted a little, wished I were younger and could tackle the job of landscaping and starting anew. It was so beautiful, nestled under the mountains and had a beautiful view of the valley. All new, and lots of mango, breadfruit, and papaya trees already grown on it.
We then drove into Kaneohe to the mall, had lunch and she shopped a little. Everywhere we went they knew people. Guess that's what you get for living here a lifetime! We each bought orchids at a "sale" in the mall. I can't resist!
We had stopped on the road at a stand and met some people who knew people we knew, they were a Samoan and Tongan family. Gave us some Mango Otai, bought some Hawaiian "slippers" for Ramon...see yesterday's post. Returned home, went to the beach for a quick "workout"...ya right!
I guess when you are Senior Missionaries, every day is "P" day a little bit. We don't ever devote a whole day to it as we have a few missionary things to do each day. We are allowed a lot of freedom and I think as long as we are constantly doing missionary work we can "play" in down times. Tomorrow is a long day and so is Monday but we love being busy. We'll have a busier week next week. The Branch mission leader called from California last night, he's been gone 2 months but will be back this week and that will help us tremendously.
