Saturday 3 weeks here!

Today we started off early with a District meeting at the park by the Temple.  They were having a funeral for a coach from Kahuku High School football team who had died.  We divided up into four groups for games outside.  I took some fun pictures.

After our District meeting we ran home for an hour, face timed with Ryan and Flora and then ran off to Jacob's baptism.  We bought a lei for him at Foodland and I was surprised it was the only lei.  It was a nice baptism.  President Fulmer was instrumental in his conversion. I'll repeat it here for those of you just starting to read this blog.  Jacob had come into his place of employment 2 1/2 years ago and tried to sell him a generator.  The President said he felt prompted to ask him if he liked to read?  He said, "uh sort of"  So President asked if he'd ever heard of the "BOM"...."Book of Mormon"  Jacob said he heard about it a few years ago.  President said he felt inspired to take him to lunch and then to the Tabernacle.  The Tabernacle is a major LDS landmark in Honolulu.  All kinds of miracles have happened there, including my friend Mollie's introduction to her husband Henry!  It is also close to (actually I'm not sure how close or if it is in the same place) as the Honolulu Mission Headquarters.  Anyway, President got some Elders to talk to him and Jacob asked if Barnes and Noble had the Book of Mormon.  They assured him they had one for him. Great baptism today.  Glad we were a part of it.  It will be nice to follow his progress for 18 months.  Oh, for you 7 brothers fans, Seth Hanneman, yeah one of the 7, gave a talk at the baptism.

Branch President David Fulmer

Then we came back at noon and had lunch and we went to the Beach for 2 hours.  Tonight I have a cookie drop with Sister Hancock...upstairs landlady who is the RS President of the Branch.  We usually go every other Thursday but it was way too rainy last Thursday so we are going tonight.  Busy day, and oh, we have to speak in church tomorrow.
